Melinda performing in Alice WonderMelinda is an award-winning actress well known on stages throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She has played a variety of roles in plays and musicals, classics and original works. Some of her works include:

At Stage West:

  • Jo in Cowgirls
  • Julie in Putting it Together
  • Ima in The Immigrant (Best Actress, 2007)
  • Effie in The Spitfire Grill (Best Supporting Actress, 2009)

At Jubilee Theatre:

  • Mrs. Savage in Negroes in Space (Mendie Award)
  • Various roles in Book of Job & God’s Trombones
  • Sister Dukes in Alice Wonder (Fort Worth Weekly’s pick for best musical
    performance of the year 2011)

She is a regular playing music at Hip Pocket’s Backyard music venue, and has also enjoyed over 50 roles in plays at Hip Pocket Theatre, Granbury Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Southwestern Opera Theatre, WaterTower Theatre, Circle Theatre, Casa Mañana and more.

Melinda is also an accomplished voice actress, heard in commercials and radio jingles, as well as voicing dozens of characters in many Japanese Anime cartoons.

Her One-woman cabaret show Melinda Wood Allen: Not an Ingenue received rave reviews in its extended run at Stage West and various other venues.
