Whether that’s at home with family, at work, picking up your car from the impound or a loved one from the hospital, the universe directed you there. I think we can take solace in that. We might feel alone in our path, but our paths were not forged with us alone in mind – we are all one, and we are all where we should be.

There is a vast secret that many have known throughout the ages. Thousands of us are awakening to discover it for ourselves. This powerful knowledge, when applied, is enough to transform our planet into the peace on earth we all say that we want. It even transforms my life–and yours, too.

It’s simple. Too simple, some will say. Yet, in all its simplicity, it is difficult to comprehend intellectually, and far more difficult to BECOME this secret every day.

At first, as with any new idea, the automatic response is, “That’s nonsense.” As we begin to practice this secret we begin to hope it is so. This is followed by an attitude of “Let’s see if it can be done.” Then it IS done. “Why wasn’t this done long ago”

Here’s the key concept, developed in my own words:

There is only one God–one Energy Field, one Great Spirit, Allah, Power for Good, in all creation. This Power is Love, which delights in individualizing Itself in many forms, the most diverse, the better. We can use this Power. My ongoing thoughts and attitudes produce my environment.

All ancient wisdoms taught that God is All There Is, in different words. In every religion, God, or Love, expresses Truth. In all religions, philosophies–yes, even science–this One offers Himself/Herself/Itself in different ways. There is no separation between all the religions! There can be no separation between races, nations and neighborhoods, for Energy, or God, does not separate, cannot divide. God creates by uniting.

As I realize this more each day, I continue to expand my circle of love to include more and more people and ideas, no matter how weird or destructive. “He closed his circle to keep me out, but I expand my circle to bring him in,” is an old, true quote. We have an assignment, folks. We are here to create heaven on earth, wherever we are in our daily lives.

There is no separation. We are all made of “star stuff.” We are all One. Why not give unity consciousness a chance and get about our business?

Does life just “happen to you”? It’s easy to sit back and watch events unfold. If you don’t exert your creative power in life, life will express randomly in your experience-the world of Victim Consciousness. You can make life happen on your terms, but you must make a commitment. “What? No, way,” you say. “I came up here to escape commitments and the daily grind.” Lots of people seem to believe that if they make a commitment, they will have to do something that they don’t want to do, right? Not true!

Here’s a better way of understanding commitment. Commitment is a way of choosing what you want to do and focusing your power to make it happen. It is one of the most effective techniques you can use in making your life happen on your terms.

I define commitment as the focusing of my personal power. And what is personal power? That amount of universal energy which I can access at any given moment.
You can access your personal power and create the world you want!

Know Yourself as Eternal, Non-changing and Absolute

As we walk through life we see the constant change around us as everything follows its natural life cycle. Our body is no exception; it is constantly changing growing and evolving. Yet the person within the body, that silent witness to all we experience, has an eternal quality of something much greater and more permanent that who or what we think we are.

In our quite moments when we are walking or sitting with nature, our feelings reach out and connect and touch a deeper layer of our heart and soul. We become in union with that hidden force that orders the whole of creation. We can be one with this field of love, this presence of the divine, which is within us and surrounding us in each moment of our lives.

All we need to do is just be present and our awareness will naturally settle and become one with its divine nature. We leave behind our physical nature and connect with that presence of love that underlies the physical. We connect with our true Self the silent witness to our life and experiences.

That which was never born can never die. Our true self is the eternal continuum of life itself. What happens in our life is here just for a few moments; we are connected to the whole of life. We can choose any experience we wish to have in each moment, just by choosing that experience with the next breath we take.

You have come to earth for a divine purpose, to have an experience and to create your dreams with your imagination. Next time you are out in nature take the time to reflect on what your dream is? What you have chosen to create in this lifetime. Ask yourself what your true nature is? Like any plant in the garden we are all unique. We have come into this world with a specific DNA a blue print for life. A rose can only grow into a rose, a daisy a daisy. What is your nature?

We surround ourselves with a loving nurturing atmosphere. We are here to grow and develop jus t like the plants in the garden. We have been allocated a life cycle, just like the plants. This is not a dress rehearsal it is life itself.

What is your dream? What is your passion? What difference do you want to create and express in this lifetime? We are all different we all have a different nature and a different dream to live.

We are not here to copy anyone, we are here to express our nature and live our dream and be the finest example of who and what we wish to create in this lifetime.

So next time you are feeling connected to your soul and at peace with the whole Universe. Allow your higher Self to guide you, on your path to your true destiny. Dream your dream, and live your life expressing your joy and blossoming into your full nature.

We all have times when we just don’t think we can do it.

As you practice believing in yourself, the most important thing is to never give up.

You’ll inevitably encounter obstacles, but it’s how you react to them that matters.

The degree to which I love myself—

Is the degree to which I can love the world.

The ways in which I limit love for myself

Are the ways I limit my ability to fully love the world.

Hurt people hurt people.  That’s how pain patterns get passed on,

 generation after generation after generation.

Break that chain today.

Meet anger with sympathy,  contempt with compassion, cruelty with kindness.

Greet grimaces with smiles.  Forgive and forget about finding fault.

Love is the weapon of the future.

Love Will Show the Way
Russia has waged War on Ukraine, and violated the peace, the will and the and sovereignty of the people of both countries.
As a spiritual leader, my first reaction to this terrible news of is pretty much like everyone’s: Shock, followed by terrible grief, then a mix of fear, anger, deep sadness, and even a moment (or an hour, or a day) of despair and hopelessness.  But hopelessness easily becomes a reason not to do anything; we can’t stay there–hope is necessary.

So what then?  We pray.  What?  Just like in any other circumstance: we pray love.  We send love, breathe love, embody love, and act in love.  Love is an intention and an energy.  It’s a real thing—a noun…it’s also a verb.

How do we pray love? One way is to spend time and attention in silence, in grief, in solidarity with the Ukrainian as well as the Russian people.  Just at a time when our strongest instinct might be to distract or avoid, we instead focus our love, our compassion, our awareness that at depth we are One.
We refuse to give anyone our hatred, or give in to fear. We pray in absolute faith that when enough of us relinquish hate and fear, and remain ONLY in love, there will no longer be war.  We know war is impossible in the face of love.

In this time of war, we focus on love, cultivate it within ourselves, speak it to one another, and will that power and energy to infiltrate the minds of all people…

Then, and only then, we ask ourselves what else can I DO?  We sit with the question andlisten to the answers, look to our resources and abilities.  We don’t accept “nothing” as an answer.  We take a step, small or large. None of us alone can solve all war, but as we cultivate love in Oneness, make no mistake, we do increase the peace. As we take every opportunity to practice kindness, we all grow in love.

This is my prayer and my fervent hope for ALL of us in every country…. that we each do what we can, now… in love.

Prayer of St. Patrick

May the strength of God pilot me, the power of God preserve me today.

May the wisdom of God instruct me,

The eye of God watch over me,

The ear of God hear me,

The word of God give me sweet talk,

The hand of God defend me,

The way of God guide me.

Christ be with me

Christ before me

Christ after me

Christ in me

Christ beneath me

Christ over me

Christ on my right hand

Christ on my left hand

Christ on this side

Christ on that side

Christ at my back

Christ in the head of everyone to whom I speak

Christ in the mouth of every person who speaks to me

Christ in the eye of every person who looks at me

Christ in the ear of every person who hears me today.

First Day of Spring

From Native American tradition:

Let me walk in beauty

And let my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears grow sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength not to be greater than my brother or sister

but to fight my greatest enemy, myself.

Do you know who you are?
You are a manuscript of a divine letter.
You are a mirror reflecting a noble face.
This universe is not outside of you.
Look inside yourself;
everything that you want,
you are already that.

Q: What did the Zen Master say to the hot dog vendor?

A: Make me One with Everything.

May 25, 2022

Beloved community;

I am in shock, as I know you are about the mass shooting in Uvalde.  So close on the heels of the Buffalo shooting that we have not even begun to heal our wounds, we are once again torn open.

We are hurting.  We are in pain.   We want to understand.  We want reassurance that things will get better.  We want our wounds to heal and we want to feel better.  In our humble humanness, we ask for all these things.

And…we acknowledge that we may or may not get them, at least in our lifetimes.  What can be understood?

What is “better”?  How can we heal?  What can we DO?

We cry out in our frustration and anger and fear.  Still, we are faced with this awful evidence of human cruelty we do not understand.  From our human perspective, we cannot and will not know why or how a human being can do the things we see humans do.

So, we rely on what we do know.

We know:  There is a Power greater than any human force.  That Power is limitless, infinite, omnipresent.  That Power is at work in our world, even now, when we struggle to see evidence of it.  We call that Power Love.

We invoke the God of Love—not just the word, but the vast, unknowable, actual Presence of Love. We hold the truth that Love, somehow, is here, even amongst the pain and anger and fear.

More, we know that love is in each of us, and so we call on it.  We pray—not to know the answers–but to be shown how to bring the love that we are into its full power.  We see a call for love and we respond with love, to the best of our ability.

Pray with me.

Dear God of Love;

In our pain and confusion, we cry out to you today.  We ask that we may be filled with Love, that we may remember Love, that we may embrace every ounce of Love available to us, and that we may in turn use that Love for good in the world.

We come to you in unutterable sadness as we grieve today with ALL who are in pain.  May we acknowledge that pain as our own, as we are all One in truth.  May we hold ourselves and one another with care and gentleness.  May we turn to the Source of Love as our only solace and guide as we search for what to do, how to be, in a world filled with so much pain.

As we try to understand that which cannot be understood, we turn to the Master Teachers who have taught us that anything that looks unlike love is a clear call for love, and we ask for strength to recognize that call and to heed it; to give our love into all situations and people; to give love to ourselves, to the helpless, to the hopeless, and to those whose ideas and values we do not agree with or understand.  May we never give in to hopelessness, but remember that in Love lies our strength, our salvation and that of the world.

We thank you, Holy Spirit, for the blessings of Love, seen and unseen, now and ever.

And so it is.

I‘m an artist, a musician.

I’m a minister who believes that “minister” is a verb.  It’s what you do, rather than a title you wear.  To minister is to love and love is my only platform.

I believe in love.  I believe it is the only power that can overcome all the world’s ills—hatred, fear, greed.  Love is my God,  God is only Love; therefore anything NOT loving is NOT from God.  My jam as a spiritual teacher is to find the common threads of love in all the world’s literature and religions and celebrate it.

I defend the right for all people to love whomever they wish.  I have been married to the same (crazy) man for almost 30 years, and he makes me laugh every day.  Sometimes against my will.

I do not take myself too seriously… I know me too well:  I laugh loud, cry easily, talk a lot, work hard, and cuss way too much.

I currently (the number changes) have 2 dogs and around 7 cats.  Some inside, some outside.  ALL rescues.

I love the earth.  I try to avoid using anything disposable, and if I can’t avoid it, I reuse and as a last resort, recycle.  I compost.  I garden.

I do the NYT Sunday crossword every week.  I rock word games and suck at Monopoly. Can’t throw a ball to save my life.

I make many mistakes, but I try never to make the mistake of withholding love.  I’m not perfect at it, but I’m learning.

July 27, 2022

The longer I live, the more I am stuck by the power of this truth.  I can see all the negative emotions–hatred, aggression, envy, greed—as fear with a mask of bravado.  When I see the fear in the ‘hater,’ I am more able find compassion for those whose behavior I abhor.  With a heart of love, I can then work more effectively for right and justice.

We are surrounded with gifts of grace every day, but tend to focus instead on what we perceive as “missing.” This week, let’s practice looking around—and within—to seek the gifts that are already ours, but which we have not fully accepted or appreciated.
